One of the best February 28, 2008 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is absolutely one of the best dog training books that I have come across since I began reading on the subject about 10 years ago. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in the field.
Wonderful, helpful book December 25, 2007 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
When Pigs Fly!: Training Success with Impossible Dogs The best clicker training book of the many I've read. Useful for all those who want to train dogs but especially helpful for those with sighthounds and terriers. A knowedgable and kind book.

What a lifesaver this book is proving to be. I have a Borzoi puppy who did not care for conventionl dog training (to say the least) and his trainer suggested this book would be helpful. Using the principles and practices outlined in the book makes for a much happier dog and for his owners - peace of mind. Highly recommend this book.
Delightful and encouraging October 6, 2007 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
Other reviewers have pretty much said it all-- there's a good and very approachable intro to clicker training in this book, and I loved the emphasis on fun games to play with your dog and teaching your dog to like playing with you. (That's been a key insight with my whippet.) What I especially liked was the contagious enthusiasm which the author obviously has for her "Pigs Fly" dogs. It's a book that makes you feel happy about having one, instead of mildly insane like the rest of the world might think. ;-)
a strong basic book October 3, 2007 16 out of 22 found this review helpful
If you are not familar with clicker work, this is a strong basic book. If you are experienced trainer, its a lot of other peoples work condednsed and rewritten with pictures.Nothing really new, a lot of condensed agility training tricks. This is an intermeddiate level book, requires the ability to read complex ideas and translate into action. If you can't "read and do", then hire a good trainer to help you . dog lady of forest grove
